Rough Pricing for Interior Painting

interiorpainting

So how much does it cost to paint a room professionally?

Would you believe $400 – $2,500+? The average room costs about $800 to paint, but there are so many factors.

The room in the above picture was slightly larger than average, included a fireplace, and had a higher ceiling than usual so it cost around $1,000 to paint.

If they had included the inside of the closet it would have added $100 – $200.

If the trim was previously a different color, the trim would needed a second coat which would have added $200+.

If the ceiling was in pristine shape (with NO old paint on it, no cracks, no reason to caulk the corners) – it would have been about $150 LESS.

If the client wanted an accent wall – figure on around $75 extra.

If the client had asked for an ultra premium paint, add about 10% – 15%.

If there was extensive preparation, add 20%, or 40% if the goal is to get things extremely smooth (see our preparation standards – level 4 and 5).

Does this seem confusing? We will walk you though all of this by asking questions and in the end offer several options per room that make sense to you. For the most part, we estimate WHAT you  want painted per room and then give you options for more extensive preparation (level 4) and second coats to trim (if color is changed.)

*Note:  This is a just to give you a very rough idea of pricing, there are many more factors that come into play.  And this pricing is specific to the Woburn franchise.
